Elegant Embellished Nail Art

For this "What r u wearing Wednesday?" post I thought I'd go ahead and kill two birds with one stone.  Figuratively speaking, of course, no birds were harmed in the making of this blog post.  I decided to go ahead and take care of my Blogger Bragger week 3 challenge, embellishment.  I did not have any preconceived design when I started this nail art project.  I just gathered up some craft supplies and got started.

Materials
Base and top coat
OPI with a Nice Finn-ish and Ice-Bergers & Fries
Feathers
Flat back gems
Various gold studs

I started this manicure with one clean coat of OPI with a Nice Finn-ish over a base coat, of course.  This is my new favorite gold tone polish that leans toward the copper side just a bit.

On my pointer I applied a second coat of polish and while the polish was still wet I placed my feather over top.

I then used a pair of nail clippers to cut the feather in line with the tip of my nail.

On my ring finger, I free-handed a wide stripe of Ice-Bergers & Fries.

I applied four of my flat back gems down the middle of my Ice-Bergers & Fries stripe.  I am not sure where I got these gems but I know it was a local craft store.  You can find the coolest embellishments that are easy to use in a manicure at any craft store.

With my gems in place I lined the edge of my Ice-Bergers & Fries stripe with 2mm gold studs.  These studs are item #12411 from bornprettystore.com.

I then finished this look by applying diamond-shaped gold studs to the remained of my fingers.  The diamond studs are also from bornprettystore.com, item #7277.  I also topped the feather applique with a thick coating of Seche Vite to make it glossy and seal it in place.

This is one of my favorite manicures as of late.  I'm in love with gold tones, and even though there was no grand scheme for this design I think it worked out well.  I hope you enjoyed this nail art design, and are inspired to take a trip to the craft store for a little extra bling.
