Minion Decals - Lady Queen Beauty Review

Hello Lovelies!  This weekend, we had a Minion Movie party for the Blu-ray/DVD release.  It just so happens that I was sent some really cute Minion water decals from Lady Queen Beauty for review.  So, what better time to try them out, am I right!

These adorable little water decals are Item #NA0761.  They come in 11 different styles, this is Pattern BLE1862. 

 

Sadly, because I was busy putting the party, I didn't have a great deal of time and failed to take independent photos of the application process.  However, these water decals are no different than any others.  Start with a clean dry base, I used China Glaze "New Birth" for my base polish.  Trim the decal, in this case I choose the three little singing Minions.  Then after removing the protective covering, submerge the decal in water for 10-20 seconds.  Remove the decal from the water, slide it from the backing and apply to your nail.  For smoother placement of the decal I recommend you moisten the surface of your nail with a bit of water, I simply dip my finger in water before applying the decal. Because Minions love bananas I freehand painted bananas on my pinky finger over a base of Glisten & Glow "Blue on Blue" (which I recently purchased) with acrylic paints and a small brush.

I was never a big advocate of water decals, but I am quickly discovering their true value.  These water decals fit the theme of the party perfectly.  They are so easy to use, that it took me a fraction of the time it normally takes me to do a full freehand nail art design.  In fact, I was so busy setting up for the party, that if not for these decals, my nails would have been very boring.

So in short, do I recommend these water decals?  Yes, yes I do!  Besides who doesn't love cute little Minions?!  Okay, maybe not everyone loves Minions but Lady Queen Beauty has a huge variety of water decals, they're sure to have something you'll like.  As a tip for those newbie nail artists like myself, I suggest that you begin with small decals such as these Minions before trying a full nail water decal.  The smaller decals are easier to place, so they're great for plebes like me.

Floral Water Decal - Lady Queen Beauty Review

Hello Lovelies!  If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen me post a swatch of Northern Star 'Faerie Kiss,' after wearing it for about a day I realized it would go smashingly well with some water decals that www.ladyqueen.com had sent to me.  Here is what I ended up with...

 

These floral water decals are Item #NA0823, they are available in 4 different patterns, this pattern is C259.

 

In all honesty, I have very little experience applying water decals.  In fact, I think this is only the third, maybe fourth time I have ever applied them.  However, they are not all that difficult to apply once you figure out what you are doing.

 

I started by applying white polish (Sally Hansen X-treme Wear 'White On') to the nails that would be wearing the water decals.  You don't have to use a color base polish but it helps the decals appear more opaque, I recommend using white because it make the decals more true to the color that you see in the packaging.

 

After removing the decals from their packaging, you have to trim the decals that you intend to use.  The decals in this package are arranged from a large size to a smaller size, I assume this is approximate sizing for thumb to pinky.  However, because everyone's finger sizing varies you may have to use them in a different order.  Once the decal is trimmed to the size you need, remove the protective plastic covering, and submerge it in water for approximately 10-20 seconds. Remove it from the water and slide it from the backing. Wet the nail and place the decal on your nail, its important that the base polish is dry to the touch. Wetting the nail allows the decal to slide on the nail, which helps to remove wrinkles. Using a cuticle pusher or orange stick, press the decal and smooth out any wrinkles.  Press the decal over the free end of your nail, then clean the excess decal using gentle acetone and a brush. I recommend using a dabbing or stippling motion when cleaning the excess decal. Using a swiping motion could potentionally pull and rip the decal.

 

For this nail art design, I used a full decal on my ring finger and half a decal on my mid finger.  I added a piece of striping tape to cover the divide and add a little decorative charm.

Glitter Rhinestone - Lady Queen Beauty Review

Hello Lovelies!  I was recently contacted by Lady Queen Beauty and asked if I would like to review their product.  They have so many wonderful nail art products and accessories that I couldn't resist.  One of the items I choose to review were these gorgeous Multi Colored Rhinestones.

These Multi Colored Rhinestones Item # NA0285 come in a wheel and include two sizes of gems in just about every color of the rainbow.

The Rhinestones have a 3D shape and a nice iridescent appearance that make them shine like jewels.  These stones also have a somewhat metallic finish which makes them very opaque (in other words you cannot see through them).
 

I decided to use these Multi Colored Rhinestones  to create a French tip nail art design.  Using a binder hole reinforcement dot I created a deep French tip, by placing the reinforcement dot approximately 1/3 from the tip of my nail.  I then filled in the tip with black polish and immediately removed the reinforcement dot to prevent the polish from pulling.  I used Sinful Colors "Black on Black" because this is my go to black polish.

I then used the Multi Colored Rhinestones along the smile line of the French tip I just painted.  I used three larger stones in the middle and a smaller stone on either side.  I applied these stones by applying a topcoat and pressing the stones into the topcoat while it was still wet.  I then applied another layer of topcoat over the stones to seal them in place.

I prefer the topcoat method for applying stones and studs because I change my nail art often and I find it easier to remove the studs without damaging my nails.  If you intend to wear a manicure with studs for an extended period of time, I would recommend using nail glue to apply the studs instead of the topcoat method.  I would also recommend using nail glue if you are using a significantly large gem or charm, because the topcoat will not hold them for long.
